MOF-801/Graphene Adsorbent Material for Greenhouse Climate Control System—Numerical Investigation

Greenhouses with efficient controlled environment offer a promising solution for food security against the impacts of increasing global temperatures and growing water scarcity. However, current technologies used to achieve this consume significant amount energy, which on operational costs CO2 emissions. Using advanced metal organic framework materials (MOFs) superior adsorption characteristics, work investigates development new technology greenhouse-controlled environment. The system consists MOF coated heat exchanger, air evaporative cooler. A three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model was developed using COMSOL software experimentally validated MOF-801/Graphene exchanger (DCHE) determine best cycle time power input. It found that desorption 16 min input 1.26 W, maximum removal rate obtained from 274.4 g/kgMOF/W.hr.
